Phil Good – Be Somebody

Phil Good has just released his new song “Be Somebody”. Opening with a gritty riser and (what sounds like) a condescending voicemail, the Phil’s voice comes in over an incredibly minimal track. The sparseness makes it so satisfying when the beat drops; vibey, plucky, and grooving with an easy smoothness. It’s catchy and fun, but it doesn’t distract from the skillful songwriting that feels painfully relatable.

“Be Somebody” is an impressive release from Phil Good and it’s made a new fan out of me!
