WE FOUND NEW MUSIC is an artist discovery platform, dedicated to introducing the very best up-and-coming artists, both locally and globally, and keeping the music industry and its audience informed. Founder, Grant Owens, books all of the talent for the showcases, as well as hosts the weekly radio shows and interviews. Co-Founder, Jonathan L Reyes is Head of Marketing, Communications, Publicity, Public Relations and Business/Legal Affairs.
Since 2012, WFNM has been at the forefront of artist discovery, helping countless musicians break into the scene through weekly live industry facing showcases, captivating radio interviews and performances on demand as well as on LA’s award-winning ‘The Socal Sound’, on 88.5 FM, and the community based digital radio platform, Dash Radio, which can also be streamed on demand worldwide. We partner with marketing teams, labels, managers and agents, to bring the very best artists in for features. These rising stars are featured on the revolutionary new artist discovery app, ‘Showcase’, which is curated by WFNM’s founder Grant Owens, who is the app’ s Head of Music Curation and Artist Relations.
We take pride in being the first to recognize and promote some of today’s most relevant artists. WFNM has been one of the first discovery points for today’s most relevant artists, including Billie Eilish, Flyana Boss, CIL, YUNGBLUD, Arlo Parks, Dermot Kennedy, Alec Benjamin, Kim Petras, Sam Fender, Imagine Dragons, The 1975, Bishop Briggs, The Marias, Sigrid and many more. WFNM has become renowned for conducting Billie Eilish’s first interview and presenting Kim Petras’ debut show, solidifying our reputation as taste-makers in the industry. More recently WFNM booked CIL’s LA debut and conducted her first interview. She was then booked on a tour with Stevie Nicks. WFNM is a locally and internationally-trusted brand, known for its distinctive music curation and care-free live showcase environment, full of like-minded musicians, collaborators and music fans. Many artists discovered through the WFNM platform have recently been a support artist on a major tour or have gone viral on social media platforms. Grant Owens may take a chance on an artist, booking them for their very first show, solely due to their raw talent. The artists we discover through WFNM often make their first-ever live appearance in Los Angeles, causing a buzz that resonates far and wide. WFNM is a trend-defining brand with a devoted local following that attracts the attention of industry professionals and fans worldwide.
WFNM has presented live showcases since 2014 in Los Angeles at popular venues including the legendary Troubadour, speak-easy venue Madame Siam, the Russian themed intimate setting of Bar Lubitsch, and recently, the new Sunset Blvd go-to venue & hotel Hotel Ziggy. Shows have also been presented at The Roxy, The Echo, Hotel Café, and The Moroccan. WFNM has also presented an official SXSW showcase every year since 2015. Some of the key highlights at past years’ SXSW showcases include Kim Petras’ first live show, Sam Fender’s second US show, as well as key performances by The Marias and Dermot Kennedy! The authentic magic of our showcases lies in not only the venues themselves, but also in our ability to hand pick and deliver exceptional artists to these stages.
Looking ahead, WFNM is gearing up for an expansion across the United States. Our plans include taking our current format to new cities, relying on our loyal audience, direct artist marketing, and exciting partnerships within the industry and beyond.
