Peter Manning Robinson and Klaus Hoch create “Pure Heartbreak”, a visual and sonic emotional rollercoaster
Peter Manning Robinson is Los Angeles- based pianist, Emmy Award–winning and multi–BMI Award–winning composer. Known for his deeply evocative piano compositions, the artist is known to collaborate with applauded director Klaus Hoch. Together, the duo have created “Pure Heartbreak”, a devastatingly beautiful contemplation on the turbulence and pain of a breakup.
Distilling the ache of separation into a single, unguarded emotional statement. Built around Robinson’s gorgeously melancholic piano work, the piece rises and falls with the inner turbulence of a breakup, allowing silence, space, and fragile melody to speak as loudly as the notes themselves. Every note feels deliberate yet vulnerable, unraveling with an honesty that refuses melodrama in favor of quiet truth. The accompanying cinematic video deepens the impact, portraying two lovers parting ways against the beauty of Palm Springs and the Salton Sea.
Together, the music and visuals form a poignant meditation on loss. one that lingers long after the final note fades. The song is the first off of the album Excursions, out later this year.
