Ofelia K: I Love My Lawyer

Ofelia K’s smoky voice on her new single “I Love My Lawyer” is utilized at its best. Her vocal decisions to throw the words, “I wanna lose control,” before the chorus, gives off this connection of humanity.

The song isn’t busy, which I find to be perfect, especially when Ofelia’s voice shines in a’capella at the beginning and end of the song. But the part of the song that shines for me the most is the bridge. Her speak-sing vocal in the middle 8 is my favorite part.

If you haven’t heard of Ofelia K, you might’ve already heard her on the new Kaskade track with Felix Cartal “Faking It”. And if you want more of her, my favorite “Cinco” will definitely take you for a dark, quirky, indie-pop ride.
