[PREMIERE] Brooke Williams – Art of Pretending
Brooke Williams has just released her awesome new single “Art of Pretending”.
Opening with staccato melodic strings, Brooke’s voice cuts through with a quiet kind of intensity.
The songwriting is fantastic and powerful, the chorus soaring with strong hooks and clever lyricism, as the minimalistic production slowly grows around her earnest performance.
“Art of Pretending” is a really impressive single from this rising artist and I can’t wait to hear what comes next from her!
In her words:
“This track is about two people who are pretending in a relationship, should probably part ways but just can’t let go. I wrote it on my very first trip to Stockholm with some really amazing producers, Carl Falk and Albin Nedler who’ve produced some of my favorite artists and songs (Avicii, Ariana Grande, MØ), so this was a really fun and special collaboration for me. The inspiration behind this track came from a poem I wrote at 4am when I was feeling kind of drained and down. I was just thinking about the concept of pretending and how we all do it sometimes; whether it’s in a relationship or just in life. I basically went on a long rant in my phone releasing all my frustrations and random thoughts. I ended the poem with the line “and that my dear is the art of pretending”. So that became a song title I needed to write. I’m so excited it’s out in the world! I hope people love it and can relate to it in some way.” – Brooke Williams
