Riley Biederer – what the f*ck i did [PREMIERE]
We’ve all been there at least once before. Dated a loser for X years, despite the cries and pleas from friends and fam, we became blind to our not-so-great situation. That is, until we are plucked from said situation and shown a part of love we never knew existed. The power of comparison in these situations is profound and often life changing. Here to comment on this phenomenon is 24-year-old, Atlanta-native native Riley Beiderer in her second single of the decade “what the f*ck i did” (April 3).
Presently based in Los Angeles, Riley is no stranger to the world of songwriting and artistry. Having been signed by Elton John to Rocket Music and Sony/ATV at 15, followed by an appearance on The Voice on both Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani’s teams. Leveraging these experiences, she supported Nick Carter on the North American leg of his tour and won her episode of the Ryan Seacrest YouTube series Best Cover Ever giving her the opportunity to perform a duet with Katy Perry. Since these star-studded encounters, Riley decided to hone her focus on songwriting, recently scoring a top 10 in Canada with DJ Frank Walker’s “Heartbreak Back” for 30+ weeks straight.
Reemerging with a fresh new arsenal of songs and messages she intends to share with the world, 2020 saw the release of “too much,” the first since 2016. The perfect follow up single, “what the f*ck I did” is a refreshing bop of a pop song. Musing with her euphonious vocals possessing a distinct raspy edge we all crave, “what the f*ck I did” is a euphoric celebration of self-realization. In her own words,
“I’m in a super wonderful relationship with a guy where the situation has me thinking ‘oh my god, what did I ever do or feel or want before you?’ But I feel like this song not only hits close to home for me and my relationship, but also with my many friendships. There’s a special sentiment in having someone who you think is so amazing in your life and now you don’t know how you got through anything before you met them.”
