Jordan Duffy takes us to “Nights Like These” with synth pop bliss
Four-octave vocal acrobat baddie Jordan Duffy has just released her latest single and video “Night Like These”. The songwriter brings in all the creativity with this wild and fresh synth pop tune. Produced by We Found New Music favorite Party Nails, “Nights Like These” highlights Jordan’s songwriting prowess and uncanny vocal ability.
“Nights Like These” begins with a blazing saxophone solo, searing synths and haunting beats. Jordan Duffy sings “Please hold me tight / Please don’t let me go / I’m so terrified / I’m scared to know / Will I wake soon / No one next to me,” asking for solace in a time of fear, isolation and anxiety. Her vocals are on full display, with a robust operatic tone rarely heard in popular musical releases. From the first synthesized note to the final fade-out, the track delivers a perfect dose of 80s nostalgia while still feeling fresh and exhilarating. Jordan Duffy is an exuberant performer and this is also shown in the music video. Showcasing various nightmare scenarios including a demented clown, axe murder and scary witch like characters, Jordan takes the listener into a crazy scary world of nightmares that is also hilarious and fun.
Jordan Duffy not only is a songwriter and singer but she also is a senior audio engineer. The Worcester, Massachusetts raised artist now lives in Los Angeles and in addition to her music career, she became the first female audio engineer at Earwolf/Stitcher Podcasts.
