Cory Cullinan shares fascinating new art and noise piece “Footprint”
Cory Cullinan has opened our mind with his new creative journey through noise, sound and visuals. Teaming up with his daughter, the talented visual producer, director and editor Sidney Cullinan, the duo have transformed how we view and hear new media. Their “Footprint” is awe -inspiring, thought provoking and captivating.
“Footprint” was initially inspired by famed composer and electronic music legend John Chowning and his 220A course that Cory attended at Stanford University. The student and artist had a distinct vision for the audio piece, but found it difficult to finish due to the technical limitations at the time. Fast forward to today, Cory saw his mentor again and that reintroduction gave him the inspiration and tenacity to finish what he had once heard in his head. The result is an audio exploration of time and place, filled with moments of environment, nature and humanity. Sidney Cullinan adds a visual depth to the piece with her film accompaniment resulting in a captivating multimedia version of “Footprint”.
