Ski Team shares two song atmospheric envelopment with ‘Islands’
Ski Team, the Brooklyn-based artist moniker of Lucie Lozinski, returns with a new EP ‘Islands’. The EP is composed of two songs, each displaying different artistic sides of the singer-songwriter. The EP begins with a classical infused track “Islands” which is described as a hymn. The collection also features a standout indie pop single “Me”. Both songs complement each other beautifully, showing differing listening experiences each captivating in their own right.
With her new EP, Ski Team pulls us into her world—a place where vulnerability and resilience coexist. The song “Me” is atmospheric, with layered synths and a subtle, groovy beat. It feels like a soundtrack to reflection, a recurring theme throughout her music. The sound is more textured, almost cinematic at times, allowing her voice to float through the rich production like a quiet river cutting through a lush forest. In “Islands”, Ski Team’s voice, is impossibly soothing, her soft, almost soul-barring delivery carrying a weight of emotion in every syllable. Both songs were produced by Daniel Knowles who is known for his work with Sharon Van Etten and Cigarettes After Sex.
The result is an EP that feels a bit more experimental and layered compared to her past music, yet it maintains the same intimate, personal energy. ‘Islands’ is a striking evolution in Ski Team’s musical journey. It is a two song collection of emotional depth, sonic ambition, and lyrical authenticity.
