A New Player Has Entered the Game: Manhattan Native Pop Singer Krissy
From time to time I come across something unique. Some days I find an artist that really stands out from the rest and today is one of those days. I’m happy to introduce Krissy, a pop singer from Manhattan. Delivering cool and refreshing lyrics, you’ll find it very hard not to dance to her tunes. Krissy began singing in church as a child, growing up in a traditional Christian Caribbean household. Despite her young age, her musical interests were as diverse as they could be; she listened to everything from Elton John to Hannah Montana. However, it wasn’t until she attended The New School in NYC that she began to pursue music as a profession. Krissy’s biggest dream is to sold-out every show she’s in. She wants to have her talent recognized by her peers, collaborate with fashion houses, and have her music featured on A24 movie soundtracks. A lover of all art forms, she aims to pursue a career spanning genres and mediums.
Taking inspiration from heavy hitters such as Lady Gaga, FKA Twigs, Cher, Madonna, Mark Ronson, Bon Iver, Lana Del Rey, Ludwig Goransson, and Donald Glover/Childish Gambino, Krissy is empathetic yet bold, unflinchingly, and passionate. She combines her love for fashion and cinema with these aspects of her personality in her brand of artistry. Currently, she is exploring multiple genres in her music, influenced by electro-dance, disco, grunge rock, and reggae.
Recently she released her new single Want To Want Me, a pop dance banger that shows Krissy is not just a dreamer, she’s working hard to make said dreams come true. Bringing together captivating lyrics with her mesmerizing voice she has fashioned an impressive take on your pop radio song. Although pop isn’t really my thing, I appreciate artists trying something new. Breaking the rules isn’t something to be lightly taken. Krissy knows what she wants and is determined to reach it. She is already making a name for herself in the music industry, and I admire her courage and ambition. I’m excited to see what she will bring to the table in the future.
