Aidan Martin – Hurting You
The birth of song began with the voice, the only instrument truly unique to its beholder. Yet, in a music market swamped with artificial sounds and sonic alteration, the glimmer of raw, authentic talent is exceptionally remarkable. For British singer-songwriter Aidan Martin, it was his voice and undying passion for music that has kept him steadily treading the creative path.
Perhaps you know him from his appearance on the UK smash TV show, The X Factor, for his audition which spurred a viral sensation in 2017. Or maybe you stumbled upon his debut single “Punchline,” an independent release which climbed to No. 4 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart, amassing 11 million streams to date.
Yet still, this may be the first time Aidan Martin has crossed your radar, and for that I am extremely envious. Envious due to the magical experience you are about to partake in for the very first time. We’ve all likely heard hundreds if not thousands of singing voices in our lifetimes, but finding a tone and timbre that cuts through the noise in a special way is a rarity.
Today marks the release “Hurting You” (March 27), a heart wrenching ballad exploring the other side of a relationship in turmoil. With vulnerability and honesty, Aidan muses on being stuck in a cycle of hurt, where he technically plays “the bad guy.”
As he works through his confession, the track builds into an explosive gospel chorus finish. Riffing through the peak emotions in the bridge, his vocal prowess is clear as he showcases skillful ornamentation and inflections, resulting in an incredibly captivating vocal performance.
Stay tuned for more Aidan Martin in the very near future!
