10 Question’s with the unknown ALMA

So, ALMA, we are currently overly fucking obsessed with your smash song Karma which we heard on YouTube and Spotify this week (Karma is currently in the Global Viral Chart on Spotify)!

We just wanna ask you a few little Questions about yourself… Fill us in…

1) So, what’s your real name and how old are you? Tell us a brief
description of your journey into Music.

Hey! I’m happy to hear that you like Karma! Thank you <3 My real name is Alma-Sofia Miettinen and I am 20 years old. I have always loved to listen to music and to sing. Already when I was young I got energy from music whenever I felt sad or upset. I didn’t do so good in school and I just wanted to make music. When I was 17 I started touring with a Finnish female rapper. PME Records found me and I signed a record contract with them. Slowly I started making music by writing and making melodies. Then just one day I found myself in a song camp and Sarah from Sony ATV spotted me. I signed a song writing contract with Sony ATV and visited Berlin. I started making music there and now one year later I have a worldwide deal with a major label and my first single is out.

2) Karma is a complete yes-yes. Tell us in detail how you wrote this
and what it’s about.

Karma is a song that I needed to write. It is a song that I wrote for myself when I chose to say ¨no¨ to someone’s bullshit. It is a song for anyone who feels like being pulled down by someone else. I want Karma to give
strenght and courage to the people who are trapped in a situation like that.

3) Let’s get more unusual: What’s your favourite clothing brands and
for what reason? Tell us about your fave 3 pieces! (photos or just
describing them would be cool)

My favourite clothing brand right now is Vetements! Their clothes are a mixture of dark unisex punk and fancy style. I also like vintage and second hand. My favourite pieces from my own closet are my big old biker leather jacket and my big collection of old sun glasses. I also love just random old t-shirts that I buy all the time.

4) In a picture we have seen of you, you support Green hair, which we
dig. What other colors are you planning on showcasing and what’s
your favorite color overall?

I have green hair but it is actually turning more into yellow now. I really like this green/yellow color I have in my hair. I think I will keep it like that! 😀 I have had every color already so now I think I am good for awhile 😀 This green is my favourite cause it glows in the dark!!!

5) Question: Would you prefer a 3 day holiday, once in a lifetime trip,
to the Moon, or 3 months in the glorious sunshine of Barbados, all
inclusive?

I don’t want to go to the moon! It is too crazy, haha! I think Barbados would sound PERFECT to me.

6) It’s 13:00pm and I haven’t managed to get up yet. What’s your get
up routine? I wake up, coffee, toilet, breakfast, work. You?

In the mornings I just keep hitting the snooze button and then I have only like 15 minutes to eat, shower and do my make up. So I run into the shower, do a quick make up, take a banana and go to the place I need to go. I am late very often.

7) Have you ever been to the US? What would your dream city be and
what would you want to do there?

I have visited New York once for 3 days so I didn’t get to see that much. It was crazy big and the city looked exactly like in ”Sex and the city” movies. My dream city in the US is maybe Miami or Los Angeles because I love the sun. In Finland there is never as much of sun as in Miami or LA.

8) Best Finnish delicacies, hipster bars/venues and places to see
when really drunk?

The best place in Finland, when you are really drunk, is the whole Kallio area. It is almost like little Berlin. There are cute little bars where you can drink your beer in high heels or in a hoodie. I love it. It is like my second home.

9) What’s the plan for ALMA – is there an EP we will hear soon? More
singles? Videos?

The plans for ALMA are that we are going to put more music out soon. The music video for Karma is also going to be released soon. Then some gigs here and there. Right now I am more focusing on making more of good music at the studio. My first album is in the making and when it is out, we will hit the road.

10) It’s been lovely talking to you. Final Q: Do you believe in
Karma? I’m more of a fate man myself…

YES I do believe in karma. Not like literally but I believe that what you give is what you get. Maybe not right away but one day.
