Andy Tongren shares indie folk road trip with “Franconia”
Andy Tongren is a versatile songwriter, singer and musician who has just launched his solo project. Many will know him as the frontman to the wildly popular alternative rock band Young Rising Sons. His own music takes a more folk approach adding introspective songwriting with big anthemic choruses.
His second single is called “Franconia” and it is the perfect jam for a camping trip, hike, summer bbq or good ole road trip. The song is full of warmth and sincerity making for a happy folk-pop memory. Chronicling a special person, place or thing, “Franconia” highlights all those good things that make life worth living. A mix of acoustic guitars and banjo with steady percussion and stompy rhythms create a carefree and joyful listen. Andy’s penchant for writing anthemic melodies that stick is on full display with “Franconia”, as the ready to sing out loud chorus impresses.
“Franconia” follows Andy Tongren’s debut single “So Good”. Shared via S-Curve Records, both songs are quickly garnering much critical acclaim. The songwriters optimism is heard in both singles and we are here for it.
