Au/Ra – ‘Stay Happy’ + LA Headline show, The Hi Hat

In her newest track “Stay Happy,” Ibiza-born Au/Ra delves into the dichotomy of feeling apathetic in a world where social media is constantly pushing the narrative of “living your best life.” She sings “Is there a shortcut to stay happy?” reflecting the millennial desire to find an immediate solution to long term problems. Pairing an angelic pop voice with melancholy lyrics and a peppy dance beat, Au/Ra’s “Stay Happy” is more introspective than her previous work.

“Dance in the Dark” has a frenetic beat with a fatalistic Europop vibe. This song is infinitely danceable while retaining an edge.
