AXEL MANSOOR – WASTED MY LOVE (REMIXED)

When I heard that our friend Axel Mansoor was going to be releasing a remix package for “Wasted My Love” I got all kinds of excited. It’s such a chill vibey song, which stands on its own as a compelling 2017 debut from the LA-based artist who I can personally call an old friend. I’m honored to premiere the two official remixes, both of which take the song in new directions and breathe a new and different life into the original.

The first remix from Boston duo Sleeping Lion immediately puts you into a relaxed state with its downtempo beat and gentle keyboard lines before it begins to intensify with forward thinking future beats and modulated vocals. The dynamic re-envisioning playfully toys with the original by way of fluttering synths, aggressive pitch shifts, and such a sultry sweet electric piano. Definitely one for fans of experimental forward-thinking production.

The second remix from Brooklyn-based producer/guitarist Dulsae takes a slightly more traditional dance music approach, upping the tempo into upbeat future bass territory. Aside from a banger of a synth lead, his version also introduces some subtle guitar flourishes which nicely accent the original’s melodies.

Both remixes are available on Spotify and as free downloads here (Sleeping Lion) and here (Dulsae).
