BATTLEFLAGG shares striking pop rock anthem “Ghosts”
BATTLEFLAGG is the music of Philadelphia- based creator Jeff Hartwig. His new single is the sweeping pop rock song “Ghosts”. The singer-songwriter teamed up with famed producer Daniel Knowles who has worked with the likes of Sharon Van Etten and Cigarettes After Sex for his new musical offering. The song is the first single off of his upcoming EP Solastalgia.
“Ghosts” is a multidimensional musical journey filled with elements of indie rock, synth pop, power pop, and post punk. Candy-coated synthesizers overlay hypnotic rhythms, steady drums and atmospheric guitars. The track’s hook is anthemic and sing-a-long worthy. BATTLEFLAGG’s voice, both plaintive and resolute, conveys a sense of emotional longing and existential uncertainty. The song’s lyrics explore themes of time slipping away, missed opportunities, distressing environmental changes, and the fragility of human existence, yet there’s also an undercurrent of hope and yearning for change. The song is shared alongside an illustrated music video which shows the story of a man who has to leave his home due to these horrible environmental issues. The video also shows all the changes the character has to make and the hardships that he faces.
