Breaking Rules and Turning Heads: DAME’s “Get On the Grooveline” Rocks Hard
Are you ready for rock and roll?! Well, buckle up, kids, because you’re certainly not prepared for the storm that’s coming!
If you’re tired of the predictable music that dominates the radio and popular albums, DAME will give you exactly what you’re looking for. The band made a huge splash with their debut single, “Get Tough,” leaving everyone wanting more.
Lead singer and creative mastermind Veronica Swift delivers a powerhouse vocal performance, breathing life into the band’s sound alongside co-founder Brian Viglione, lead guitarist Kyle Reinhart, bassist Jonny Heinz, and Alexis Angel on keys, rhythm guitar, and backing vocals.
Swift wasn’t always so confident. She spent her childhood shuttling between life on the road, performing with her jazz-musician parents, and a Virginia farm with no internet, which left her feeling like an outcast. Following in her parents’ footsteps, she built a successful career as a young jazz vocalist and also mastered piano and trumpet.
During college in Miami, Swift caught a glimpse of her future with DAME. Inspired by Dante’s “Divine Comedy” and Marilyn Manson’s “Antichrist Superstar,” she wrote a Gothic-metal rock opera called “Vera Icon” and performed it onstage multiple times with a full cast. It was a defining moment, and she realized her true creative path.
Her eventual collaboration with Viglione almost seemed destined. A longtime Dresden Dolls fan, Swift recorded and performed a jazz version of their song “Sing” in 2021. Independently, Viglione’s mother and manager discovered the recording and sent it to him, sparking the connection. And that’s how it all began.
DAME is now releasing “Get On the Grooveline,” a song that fires on all cylinders with the spirit of rock and roll. Veronica pours everything into her vocals, welcoming us on this wild ride, with pounding drums and sizzling guitar driving the momentum. The rhythm is heavy but surprisingly playful. The composition evokes the golden years of Guns N’ Roses, mixed with modern influences like Halestorm. DAME cites Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith as key inspirations for this new single, and it shows. They crafted something that feels rooted in the golden era of rock and roll, yet distinctly modern.
“While our last single, ‘Get Tough’, is a pep talk, a message to the people to get back up when life gets them down,” Swift explains. “‘Get on the Grooveline’ is a message to the people bringing you down. The ones trying to tell you who to be, how to dress, and what to sing. Like, you can get with this, or be on your way. Take it or leave it, love me or leave me.”

The song directly addresses Veronica’s former managers, the older, self-important types who tried to control her every move, treating her like she needed permission to create. “Get On the Grooveline” pushes back, making it clear she’s in control and the journey won’t wait for anyone to catch up. It’s about momentum, confidence, and cutting through the nonsense to make things happen.
We bet “Get On the Grooveline” will have you grooving in no time! DAME’s style is raw, authentic, and exactly what every rock band should strive for. Say “f* off” to anyone trying to control you, because you are the master of your own destiny.
