Dresage – Gallery
Dresage has just released her new single “Gallery”.
For those new to this artist, Dresage is singer/songwriter/producer Keeley Bumford’s (of More Giraffes) personal exploration of sound and texture.
There is a dark grittiness to the production of the song as heavy (almost-industrial) percussion carries the intro to the verse’s vocals. Keeley’s voice floats above the grittiness, complimenting the dark with the light, and creating an incredibly engaging blend.
The chorus feels brighter and inviting, pulling you into “the Gallery” to explore the production and vocal textures that shine through. Every transition is a surprising journey, but they all exist in the same world, each change feeling right and natural.
In her words:
“Rather than endless self-reflection and emotional torture, ‘Gallery’ imagines an alternate universe where every heartbreak is put on display. If we had the ability to see our romantic failings and achievements art-exhibit style, wine in hand and heels clicking on polished cement floors, maybe we’d see our past with 20/20 vision.” – Dresage
