FINKEL – Shut-I (yellow) (Music Video)
FINKEL has always had intriguing video ideas (I recall in the video for “Need a Minute” Jane actually shaves Brian’s hair off!) and “Shut-I (yellow)” is no exception!
Inspired by the vibrance of yellow (they were inspired to make a series of songs by wearing glasses to various colors) the song moves with a funky groove as bright synths peak out and glisten around playful vocals.
The video is seriously impressive: it’s entirely claymation, beginning with lips (made of microchips) moving in synch with the words, and evolving into an almost Black Mirror-esque story that packs a prescient and emotional punch.
Another awesome song from FINKEL with a video that pushes the boundary for the kind of visual art that can accompany a track!
