Los Angeles- based electronic-pop trio FYOHNA are back with their dynamic single “Lie Down” marking the group’s first release since their eponymous EP in 2017. The track was produced by Aron Forbes and Chris Spilfogel and is a move away their heavily folk-influenced previous work to a more upbeat, infectious dance-based sound.

The band told Ladygun in Aug. 2019 that the song is “a naked confrontation. It interrogates the jealousies and inadequacies involved in loving another person.” However, the track ultimately is about finding love with oneself first and foremost.

The track features stylized, sultry vocals with dramatic synths, an infectious hook and an upbeat melody. The heavy production adds to the languid, seductive vibe in a way that is reminiscent of Alannah Myles’ “Black Velvet” minus the twang.
