You might not know it, but you’ve heard Hayley Warner’s songwriting before. Hailing from Sydney Australia, the talented singer songwriter who helped penn Tory Kelly’s smash hit “Hollow” released in 2015, Hayley Warner is now releasing her original songs under her own name.
She first got some recognition in 2009 when she finished as runner-up in the seventh and final Australian Idol, and was noted for her high-energy performances and vast vocal range. In 2013, The Daily Telegraph named Warner as one of Australia’s most accomplished songwriters. Warner’s songwriting credits total over 11 times platinum in worldwide sales. After moving to Los Angeles, Warner signed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music in 2015.
Needless to say, she’s pretty dang accomplished for a 90s kid.
At the age of 7, Warner was diagnosed with Perthes disease, a condition where the head of the femur starts crumbling, causing her to have to learn to walk again and be in a wheel chair for a year. She was told she wouldn’t be able to play sports again, her first passion. She soon found a new obsession: a passion and therapy in songwriting and playing several different musical instruments, and voila, a star is born. Warner’s success story is so inspiring and she has channeled all she has into her passion for music, which has clearly paid off for her.
“My mission is simply to move and transport people either into an emotion or out of one. To be brave enough to put my greatest fears and hurts on the line, with the belief that through my strength, they will find their own.”
Check out the haunting official audio for “Closure” below.
