Highschool Jacob Proves He’s “Different”

Highschool Jacob’s latest song is built  ‘different’ – in fact, it’s refreshingly unique and stands out from myriad electro-pop releases. With his signature blend of introspective lyrics and catchy hooks, this rising artist is proving that he’s one to keep on your radar

Highschool Jacob is an exciting artist known for his refreshing sound and relatable songwriting. With a growing audience, he expresses himself through unconventional means of promotion that align with his artistic identity. Drawing inspiration from artists like Porches, Still Woozy, The 1975, and Pharrell, Highschool Jacob creates accessible and emotionally engaging music from multiple perspectives.

His unique sound, shaped by his background in classical theory and film scoring, blends electronic pop with effervescent pop-rock and lush production touches. With upcoming tour dates and a new EP on the horizon, Highschool Jacob continues to push boundaries and captivate listeners with his forward-thinking sound.

Highschool Jacob’s latest release ahead of his upcoming EP is called “Different”, and it delves into the complexities of a troubled relationship. Jacob candidly expresses frustration with a partner who complains about their time together yet desires to prolong their mornings. Feeling out of place, Jacob’s partner claims dependence and love, while Jacob yearns for another outcome. The chorus echoes this sentiment, highlighting the disappointment of broken promises.

“I wanted to combine this erratic insecure dread that accompanies the end of a relationship with a smooth danceable beat to illustrate how most people have these difficult moments and in fact, carry them into new relationships without allowing themself to express those feelings”

The song is all about differences in perspective and also how -paradoxically- many different couples end up experiencing the same situation, to the point where it becomes a near-universal experience. The second verse touches on the partner’s physical appearance and Jacob’s unwavering support, yet emphasizes the desire to move on from the relationship. Ultimately, the song serves as a melancholic reflection on a failed love, wishing things had gone differently.

Highschool Jacob has exciting plans for the future. He has a new EP that will be released later this year, and he is also planning to perform more shows with his newly formed four-piece live band. It seems like everything is going well for him, and he is optimistic about what’s to come. Highschool Jacob’s music continues to evolve and progress, so we can expect even more great things from him in the future.
