Jane Doe’s rock single “Dig a Grave” is riveting
Jane Doe is a new force in rock music whose thrilling and hard-hitting releases continue to draw fans around the world. The band based in Los Angeles, is led by the charismatic and talented front woman Izzy Kay. The four-piece just released a ten track album called Found. The highlight is the gritty and dynamic single “Dig a Grave” which was also released with a cinematic and storied music video.
“Dig a Grave” is an ode one of the best musical periods recorded, the grunge era. The song also has a dual meaning in that it touches upon how futile it is to try and create a magnum opus. Immediately the listener is drawn in with ferocious reverb drenched guitars and heart pounding drums. Izzy’s confident vocals are delivered in a fiery and intense emotional way, lulling in the listeners with every note. She is an undeniable force of nature, who is able to convey both vulnerability and ferocity in equal measure. The song is bold and soaring but also invites contemplation. The music video for “Dig a Grave” is inspired by Stanley Kubrick films and is equally compelling and haunting. The band is seen performing in a mansion but there is a feverish dark undertone.
Jane Doe has released two albums thus far and continues to push the boundaries of modern rock music. Their unapologetic defiance and unfiltered approach to making music as well as powerful live performances makes the band one to watch.
