The Singapore-born artist leaves nothing out in this maximalist track, which explores what might exist beyond death. His polished, resonant, and enveloping voice blends with a richly textured production of drums, electric guitars, and an unexpected violin that expands the emotion into an almost cinematic territory.
While the track is wrapped in cosmic imagery and dreamlike metaphors, its emotional core is rooted in something far more intimate. jaye wrote “In Between” in memory of his dog, who passed away from kidney disease at just four years old. By grounding its vast, celestial soundscape in grief and devotion, the single gains a resonance that feels both deeply human and universally searching.
