Junaco Finds Stillness and Soul in Their Dreamlike New Single “Find the Melody”
It only takes a few seconds of any Junaco track to feel your pulse slow, the tension lift, and the noise of a chaotic day begin to fade. With their signature blend of unconventional arrangements, mellow tempos, and warm, melodic tones, the band crafts sonic landscapes that feel like gentle exhalations. Their latest single, Find the Melody, is no exception.
Find the Melody is the first release from Junaco’s upcoming album In Motion, a record born out of intentional solitude. Set for release in September 2025, for this album, the band retreated to a remote pocket of Northern California, immersing themselves in winter silence and raw nature to create something truly unfiltered.
“With limited daylight and no access to the internet, it really felt like we were living in our own magical little world, and the music just started appearing from there. Most of the songs felt like they came about really quickly,” the band shares.
That sense of unhurried clarity pulses through In Motion. With soft percussion and a velvety voice reminiscent of Sade, Tanita Tikaram, and Tracy Chapman, Junaco fuses jazz and soul with hints of bossa nova, echoes of Brazil rippling through their delicate arrangements and intimate soundscapes.
Junaco’s blend of folk, indie, and alternative rock has carved out a distinct space in the independent music scene, earning praise from critics and fans alike for its refreshing sincerity. Formed in 2019, Junaco has cultivated a loyal audience, performing throughout Southern California and steadily expanding its reach. Their music has been described as a breath of fresh air, grounded, soulful, and quietly powerful.
Find the Melody also showcases the collaborative strength behind In Motion, featuring pianist Tyler Chester (Madison Cunningham, Andrew Bird), string arrangements by Oliver Hill (Coco), and guitar by Omar Velasco.
Recorded at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Texas, In Motion was produced by the band with engineering by Mario Ramírez, mixed by Jake Aron, and mastered by Heba Kadry. The result? A refined yet organic record that captures a unique blend of calm, movement, and emotional depth, positioning Junaco as one of the most quietly captivating acts to watch in 2025.
