LG Malique Releases “Living Gold” with Warner Music
Amid critical acclaim, Arkansas rapper LG Malique has released his Warner Records debut EP, Living Gold, an eight-track project showcasing a deeper, more mature side that’s set to take his artistry to the next level.
The EP includes the single Lie, a pop-influenced track that dives into the harsh reality of street life and how it breeds distrust and hardens the spirit as a survival mechanism. Pain and resilience are the core themes of Living Gold, stirring deep emotions in listeners who can connect with Malique’s raw, unfiltered words.
Compared to his previous work, Malique returns with a much more complex production, highlighting his new partnership with Warner Music, which is evident in the polished final product.
Living Gold also includes Malique’s hit track “7 Years” featuring Lukas Graham, the original writer of the song. The track, which went viral on YouTube with its poignant video, offers a vivid portrayal of the artist’s life.
“[It] reflects my journey through struggles, from drugs at 13 to heartbreak and growing up in the hood,” LG Malique shared.
LG Malique’s work combines melodic sounds with hard-hitting beats, creating a musical atmosphere that commands attention, especially for rap enthusiasts. Each track on Living Gold carries its unique style, blending soft rap ballads with intense rhythms that avoid monotony, striking a perfect balance between raw emotion and strength.
This variety not only showcases his ability to adapt to different styles but also offers an honest reflection of his life, filled with contrasts and nuances that range from vulnerability to resilience.
Malique’s music stands out for its message, as is common in rap. Tracks like “I Know” display all the artist’s hard work as he uses his music as an escape from the hostile environment he grew up in. In “Acknowledgement,” another standout track, Malique shares another experience of loss and disappointment, giving his audience a glimpse into his battles and personal evolution.
LG Malique’s journey through Living Gold is not just a celebration of his strength but a call for perseverance and honesty in art. His ability to transform difficult experiences into profound, resonant music puts him firmly on the radar as an artist with much to offer the genre.
