“Better Not” is an incredible new song from the pop duo Louis The Child featuring Wafia. Louis The Child has been consistently releasing awesome singles time after time, and while this is no exception, “Better Not” feels particularly special. The production/sound design is unique and inventive (as is often the case with Louis The Child), but the minimalism in the verses create a perfect space for Wafia’s vocals.

Likewise, the sparseness of the verses/choruses make the drops feel so satisfying when heavier (though equally minimal) production elements come in. With all this said, what makes this song truly special is Wafia’s incredible vocal performance. Her ability to transition her voice between airy & empathetic to confident & direct is really powerful.

The lyrics are also clever and simple- the verses sound like Wafia is calmly talking to a friend about a new relationship and the chorus delivers an encouraging warning (emphasized by an awesome crowd of vocal layers). You “Better Not” miss this song from Louis The Child & Wafia!
