Lukey & K.eena – OCEANA

Philadelphia-based artist and producer Lukey joins forces with K.eena in their newest single “OCEANA,” a genre-fluid track bursting with rich production, upbeat lyricism, and timeless melodies. It marks the artist’s first single of 2021 and serves as a quick reminder to why fans have so eagerly awaited his return– since his debut in 2016, Lukey continues to build up a decorated resume that includes over 2.3 million global streams and placements on Spotify’s coveted Soultronic, Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds: Indie, and Fresh Finds: Pop playlists.

After a pivotal year of self-care and reflection, Lukey enters this new chapter with a noticeably matured sound. Over an infectious, synth-heavy R&B/Pop beat, he and fellow Philly-native K.EENA embark on a mood-boosting journey teeming with modern nostalgia. The release brings listeners back to a golden age of songwriting, one not categorized by overly complex lyricism but rather a universal call-to-action. The song’s infectious hook puts it best: “Don’t just stand there! Why don’t you let yourself go?”

Here’s what Lukey had to say about his latest bouncy bop:

“Within these times of lockdown and uncertainty, I’ve felt the collective longing for a good dance with the homies – while cliché, I recall those trashed-apartment, tequila-infused nights of undergrad and letting go to Daft Punk, Rihanna, and Toro y Moi. So yeah, this song begs you to dance. K.eena and I plead: just let yourself go!”

Lukey is the stage name of Filipino-American artist and producer Lucas Geniza. The Philadelphia, PA-based musician is a true multifaceted talent, finding unprecedented success across multiple genres and production styles. Over the past year, Lukey has worked on refining this sound, and in 2021, is poised to present it to the rest of the world.
