Madi & Robokid – White Horse

Madi has just released her single with Robokid called “White Horse”. Immediately I was struck by Madi’s voice- it’s gritty intensity; singular in its mellow power. The production compliments her perfectly, mirroring the disquieting and haunting qualities of the lyrics and her performance. Robokid’s verse differs Madi in a really cool way; he’s more rhythmic, direct, and grounded, contrasting Madi’s airy intensity.

This is an awesome collaboration and I’ll be sure to keep an ear out for what comes next from both of these rising artists.

“White Horse’ came to me in a time where I fought the most I ever had for someone in my life, and it ended up just being a complete low of desperation. A cry and plea for someone to fight back for you and also with you – for them to be willing to work out the kinks and gears of a relationship – something that sometimes even harder than heartbreak. I was continuously haunted by Robokid’s live vocal performance and also the way he produces his vocals, and I couldn’t think of a better match for this “love war” on White Horse. Robokid has been apart of my musical and artist journey from the start, so working with someone who really gets where you come from, and most importantly where you want to go, is something dear to my heart.” -Madi
