Mal the Oddity – Right Now

Mal the Oddity, from Brooklyn, NY, is a blend of hip hop, bedroom pop, indie, and electronica, which he also likes to coin as cinema. He honed in on a sound influenced by the likes of Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, Tame Impala, and a plethora of bedroom pop artists paving the way towards new sonic frontiers. Before Covid-19, Mal performed regularly at bars and venues around NYC (Pianos, the Delancey, the Well, & Babycastles to name a few), as well as occasionally on college campuses.

Mal the Oddity’s newest tune is a bop for the summer that was stolen. Playfully lamenting the quarantine distance between him & his lover over bright 80’s inspired production, Mal creates another vibrant entry in NYC’s bedroom pop scene.
