It goes without saying that POWERS had a potent 2015. It was an erstwhile year ago that the duo from Los Angeles lent sassy vocals to The Knocks’ Classic, which went on to become a massive hit, remixed many times over by an array of incredible production talent. POWERS subsequently released a single named Beat Of My Drum, and suffice to say, my heart was no longer mine as it promptly forsook me to the cadence of that very beat. Mike Del Rio and Crista Ru had stolen it with one of the year′s most infectious and memorable indie gems, a fusion of alternative, soul, electronic, and pop.

Just when I thought I couldn’t fall any harder for the charismatic duo, Mike and Crista visited WE FOUND NEW MUSIC to chat with producer and host Grant Owens, and out of the intimate tête–à–tête comes an acoustic in-studio performance of that very same bandit of a song, alongside a moving performance of sweetly wistful Loved By You, both off POWERS’ tremendous Legendary EP, available on iTunes. This rare, stripped down engagement affords us a fortuitous and mesmerizing peek into a laid back & personal side of the songs, on which we’re privy to some breathtaking and flawless harmonies. It’s with much pleasure that IHM premieres the WE FOUND NEW MUSIC in-studio performances of Beat Of My Drum and Loved By You, followed by POWERS’ insightful interview with Grant Owens.
