[PREMIERE] Adam Miko – It Only Happens In The Summer

Adam Miko is back with his new song “It Only Happens In The Summer”. Sparse production driven by strong rhythmic songwriting, this flows with the whirlwind of a summer fling gone sour. There’s experimental sound design throughout (a pitched-down laugh track, gritty percussion, and a feature from Siri), but there’s an underlying pop sensibility that keeps this summer track bouncing. In fact, Adam’s friend (and songwriting legend), Bonnie McKee, heard a demo of this song and called it “visual, honest, and unique.” Given that today is the last day of summer, this song ends the season on a groovy yet vulnerable note!

In his words:

I intended the song to feel like a juxtaposition – something you can dance to that will help you get over the hurt feelings in a breakup. I also wanted it to have edge, like the pain of a break up feels regardless of how positive you stay” -Adam Miko
