[PREMIERE] Halle – Welcome

Halle has just released his debut track “Welcome” and it’s a really awesome introduction! Halle is 23-year old Chicago-based singer-songwriter Jake Hallendorff and “Welcome” is a genre-bending track that blends elements of R&B, hip hop, and folk. The early vibe & consistent underscore feels cinematic, opening with an orchestral atmosphere that opens up to a thumping beat a steady piano groove. Vocals blend with the spoken word, spiraling towards the cathartic idea of being “finally happy”. The lyrics are candid, teeming with frustration for the time away from his passion.

During his sophomore year of college, Halle took a break from the party scene after his arrest involving a fake ID. He then began spending his weekends writing music in his dorm. Fast-forward past his college years, Halle became a full-time accountant but kept yearning to pursue his true passion of music which focus on his battles with anxiety, depression, and OCD. “Welcome” is a killer debut for an artist I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about in the coming months.
