[PREMIERE] Matt Hall – This Is What Happens When I Think Too Much

Matt Hall is back with his introspective new song “This Is What Happens When I Think Too Much”. This song immediately starts with a beautiful orchestral introduction that drops out quickly to focus on the verse vocals.

Accompanied by a warm piano, the verse is smooth and frantic; rhythmic with vocals layers darting in-and-out from moment to moment. The chorus introduces pizzicato strings (reminiscent of Julia Michael’s “Issues”) alongside 808’s as Matt Hall’s voice cuts through with the eponymous line.

Subsequent post-choruses brings back the intro’s incredible orchestral arrangement and the blend of the strings with the percussion elements is cinematic, beautiful, and powerful.

“This Is What Happens When I Think Too Much” is a wonderful synthesis of genres & elements tied together by solid songwriting.
