[PREMIERE] Tim Atlas – Hold Up
Tim Atlas is back with his incredible new single “Hold Up”. Floating over minimalistic production, Tim croons with an enticing sincerity.
The spaces between each kick and line really felt as synth and guitar melodies cascade around him. It’s powerful in its subtlety and grooves with an effortless smoothness.
“Hold Up” is an impressive single from a rising artist with a truly inspired and unique sound. With the tour coming up, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Tim Atlas.
In his words
“‘Hold Up’ is about the paradox of choice in our 21st century, “swipe right” dating culture. I wrote this track about somebody who is constantly looking around for the “best option”, filtering out people for every little flaw while feeling lonely, insecure, and longing for connection. After noticing a friend in a new light, he realizes that the “best option” doesn’t exist, but there has been love in front of him the whole time. My favorite part of this track is the bass line. We don’t hear very prominent bass lines these days, so it feels refreshing to me. I was also inspired by Price for the chorus and stacatto guitar parts. Overall, this song and lyrics flowed out of me and I’m proud to share it with fans and as the final single off my next EP, out May 31st.” -Tim Atlas
