Prince Fox – Fake It

Prince Fox is back with his new single “Fake It”. Opening with vinyl crackles and a catchy whistle, this song immediately sets a mood as Prince Fox’s vocals come in with an earnest mellowness. There’s a calm sparseness to the production that supports his strong songwriting, building gradually before diving into a heavy drop.

“Fake It” marks a new era for Prince Fox, transitioning from (as he puts it) “trying to fit in, and be like everyone else, hiding behind features”, to being himself and staying true to his own authenticity as a creator. His past collaborations are impressive, ranging from Bella Thorne (“Just Call”), to Academy Award-nominated actress/singer Hailee Steinfeld (“Fragile”), to indie-pop newcomer Quinn XCII (“Space”), but with all that experience, I’m excited for this new era of Prince Fox-focused music and can’t wait to hear what comes next!
