Sophie Bom – Housewife

Los Angeles artist Sophie Bom stepped away from songwriting for the likes of Britney Spears and Kendrick Lamar during her pregnancy, opting to spend those nine months on an unabashedly honest record called Housewife. Sonically similar to the likes of Bon Iver and Björk, it’s a soulful journey through effects laden electro-pop that comes to a climax on lead single “Kimono” as she proclaims “I’m gonna turn this house into a home.” The album’s nine tracks are fittingly self-produced with assistance from David Greenbaum (Beck, Robyn, Jenny Lewis) as Sophie delivers deeply personal meditations on motherhood that offer a lens into an oft-overlooked world. Listen closely with Housewife out now.
