Sound Art LA: Tears Are Erasable

Last June, Hollywood’s historic studio United Recording opened it’s doors to a group of Sound Art students, offering to record one of their original songs. Sound Art is a Los Angeles non-profit organization serving at-risk youth with free, culturally relevant, and mobile music education programs. This particular group, giving themselves the band name “Unlimited”, came from ICEF Vista Middle Academy in Culver City. Ages 8-13, they wrote an original song with the help of their Sound Art instructors Danna Richards and Jana Bocchieri.

United Recording has served as the studio for an entire catalog of classic albums from artists such as Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney. Since one of Sound Art’s main objectives is presenting real-world musical opportunities to their students, United Recording’s offer to record this gifted class proved to be the perfect partnership.

“Tears Are Erasable” was engineered and mixed by Wesley Seidman. For more information on Sound Art or United Recording visit soundartla.org & unitedrecordingstudios.com.
