Suriel Hess – Parts of You
Suriel Hess has just released his new single “Parts of You”.
A fingerpicking guitar and distant vocal elements immediately build the atmosphere around Suriel’s smooth vocals. His voice throughout feels familiar in its mellow-pop vibe while also remaining singular; Suriel Hess sounds like Suriel Hess with influences floating around peripherally.
The songwriting is well-crafted, each melody memorable & distinct, developing from verse to pre-chorus to chorus. It’s clear Suriel has an ear for strong pop songwriting & songwriters; the pre-chorus feels like Julia Michaels while the chorus feels like something from Shawn Mendes.
The production is minimal, growing around Suriel’s vocals & guitar, never drawing too much attention to itself, but driving the song with a vibey groove when the vocals drop out.
Suriel Hess is a newcomer to LA and definitely an artist worth keeping an eye out for.
