talker is back with her awesome new single “Keep Me Safe”.

The song opens with slamming drums and her floating voice grooving along with a melancholic energy – talker’s lyrics pull at you, powerfully vulnerable and quietly intense.

The form is intriguing, teasing at repeating sections while moving into new spaces, always keeping the listener on their toes. It feels familiar, a level of comfort amongst the disquieting falsetto harmonies and arpeggiating guitars.

The final moments with the eponymous lyrics “who’s gonna keep me safe when you’re gone?” is absolutely incredible. It begins with a grooving croon, repeating the question with a growing intensity that builds with the drums into a dazzling explosion as talker’s heartfelt powerful voice soars singing the line with everything she’s got!

It’s the kind of song I’ve found myself listening to on repeat the moment it ends, and always finding new details and connections in the lyrics, melodies, and instrumentation.
