Velvet Chains Ignite with “How The Story Ends” A Haunting Reflection on Rebirth and Ruin
Raw, intense, and even nostalgic, capable of evoking memories of the great alternative rock bands that flooded the scene a couple of decades ago, Velvet Chains burst onto digital platforms with their new single “How The Story Ends,” a treat for nu-metal lovers.
The track, emerging as a harsh reflection on today’s society, is accompanied by a dark and powerful music video in which the band plays with cool-toned filters and a stage setup that seems to question the very definition of sanity and madness.
“‘How the Story Ends’ is about searching for meaning in a world that has become uncertain and broken. It’s a reflection on loss, change, and the quiet yet brutal act of gathering what’s left of your life. It remains the most hauntingly raw and emotionally charged song we’ve ever written,” shares Nils Goldschmidt, bassist and leader of the group.
In this new chapter, Velvet Chains consolidates a more mature and visceral sound, where every instrument seems to converse with emptiness. “How The Story Ends” rises as an anthem of rebirth from the ruins, a search for meaning when everything appears to be falling apart.
The single is part of the band’s upcoming release, following a streak of successes that have positioned Velvet Chains as one of the most promising emerging acts in alternative rock. With their previous hit “Dead Inside,” the band spent 22 weeks in the Top 20 of the Active Rock charts, while “Ghost In The Shell,” released in mid-2025, reached #32 after just five weeks and remained among the most-added songs on radio for two consecutive weeks.
Formed in Las Vegas in 2018 by Goldschmidt, the band has walked a path of constant evolution. After debuting with their first album, “Icarus,” in 2021—which featured collaborations with Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses) and musicians from Duff McKagan’s Loaded—the group has found its true identity in a mix of emotional power and sonic rawness.

Velvet Chains is ready to write the next chapter in their story. With international tours, appearances at festivals such as Rock Fest, Blue Ridge Rock Festival, and Summer Breeze Open Air Brasil, and performances alongside Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, the band prove that their rise is only just beginning.
“How The Story Ends” is introspective, chaotic, and profoundly human—a work that will undoubtedly continue to strengthen Velvet Chains’ place in modern rock.
