WASI: Mama’s Gonna Get You
WASI is a pop duo from Los Angeles, that just released their striking single “Mama’s Gonna Get You”. The song deals with the frustration of being broke or feeling tired and getting vengeance on those things so that you can actually feel good.
WASI (Merilou and Jessie) teamed up in high school after Merilou booked a show with a non-existent band. In that 3-week notice, they picked up their instruments and performed for the first time.
With a blend of the likes of Closer-era Tegan and Sara with the anthemic vibe of The Clash, they create a reminiscent soundtrack to those So Cal nights of skinny dipping and antsy-garage punk rock.
