WFNM Roundup #10 – Sam Setton, ChrisLee, Gracie Hays, Marten Hørger
Sam Setton’s new single “Wine” opens with awesome sound design, that sets the pace & atmosphere. There’s a dark energy that’s visceral, accented by Sam’s intense vocal performance. The chorus is rhythmic & catchy, vibing effortlessly while it gets stuck in your head. Following the release of his last single “Santiago”, this NYC-based R&B-meets-pop artist has established a sound that’s feels gritty in its authenticity and powerful in its energy.
ChrisLee has just released his thumping new song “Make a Move”. Diving in with a tom-heavy beat & vibey synths, ChrisLee’s mellow’s vocals glide smoothly through each memorable melody of the verse. The chorus is an absolutely jam of a falsettos & hooks; simultaneously explosive & subtle while keeping complete control of a beat that plays with expectation. As ChrisLee’s third single, I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next!
Gracie Hays has just released her EP “Not For You” featuring the song “Gone”. The song comes in with an upbeat-yet-dark energy, as an acoustic guitar sets the pace and a fiddle cuts through with intensity. Gracie’s vocals feel close & candid that rise powerfully in the chorus as the strings rise to meet her. It’s an excellent blend of country & folk sensibility, with an edge that never let’s up. “Gone” is an impressive song off a great EP that’s definitely worth a listen!
Marten Hørger has just released an EP of Remixes that reimagine his songs “Hands Together” & “You Don’t”. Artists Wuki, Donkong, Koral Tip, Jay Robinson, and Taiki Nulight lend their signature vibes to their respective remixes bringing the original tracks into other subgenres of EDM.
