WFNM Roundup #26 (New Year Edition)
It’s a new year which means the gears of the music industry are slowly whirring back to life. Everyone is back on the grind: writing, producing, performing, connecting dots, making hits, and humming along. Likewise, I’ve emerged from my cave to find an inbox full of incredible music that I’m eager to share! Here are some awesome songs I missed in the first few weeks of 2019:
Two truly unique artists come together for a killer track that’s as smooth as it is original. Effortlessly groovy and everything you need on a lazy hazy day.
An awesome collaboration between Moving Castle giants Manila Killa, AOBeats, and Robokid this song pushes with a dark energy before diving into a slamming drop. I have a feeling 2019 is going to be a big year for all three of these artists!
Opening with a familiar atmosphere of real-world sound design, a bluesy 6/8 vibe highlights dynamic vocals that ooze with nostalgia. An impressive single from a this rising artist.
Myylo is back with his new single “Jonesing” which bounces with an enticingly lighthearted energy. A feel-good track that shakes your bones and makes the sun shine extra bright!
Kidbloom starts the year off fresh with “Sugarcoat” that opens with a punchy groove and nostalgic synths that support soaring layered vocals. The soundtrack to a morning drive!
The third single from Forever X2, “Walk The Ocean”, slams with rhythmic vocals and a full-fingered-bass groove that demands to be heard live. A fun song to start the year with!
X.ARI’s new single is gritty pop that bumps with a dark energy and sultry vocals. I’m looking forward to seeing what this new year brings for X. ARI
Manatee Commune’s new single is a frantic exploration of dynamic sound design and colorful energy. It swells and shrinks with a wonderful subtly without ever losing its frenetic vibe!
