[PREMIERE] Yates – Under a Bridge
Yates has just released his new song “Under a Bridge”. This song immediately establishes a dark vibe that grooves smoothly. A heavy synth bass counters an acoustic guitar, laying the groundwork for the vocals to croon above it all. The chorus maintains that minimalism, but introduces hooks that lodge each off-kilter lyric into your brain.
“Under a Bridge” is a awesome new single from an artist with a well-established sound & stories to share!
In his words:
“‘Under the Bridge’ was the first demo track I cut with Rene Corbett from New Zealand. We were already good friends in Berlin but it wasn’t until last summer that we actually decided to team up and work together. We really clicked from day one and I guess it was this song that motivated us to record more tracks which resulted in working on the whole EP together. I dropped all of the other demos that were in the making and decided to put an ironic spin on my music rather than always taking everything so serious. This new mind-set really helped me to start penning lyrics that still reflected my personal situation but somehow allowed me to laugh about myself and to celebrate the life I’m leading. In this particular song I wanted to play around with the idea of continually trying to get a grip, but not really being able to.” -Yates
